The Season Two program, comprised of eight shows, presents works from emerging through to established artists. This season will take audiences on a journey into other worlds, while others might prompt people to see our own world in a different way.

AUGUST

The Last Great Hunt present All That Glitters, a work about hope in the face of hopelessness that is equal parts protest and pop music extravaganza. It features the talented Adriane Daff, Jeffrey Jay Fowler, Arielle Gray and Chris Isaacs, and is directed by Gita Bezard.

Latitudes is the latest work from acclaimed screenwriter Mark Walsh, directed by the award-winning Mikala Westall (Moving On Inc.). Three women find themselves stranded on an island, and there are creatures lurking in the water, demanding to be fed…

 

SEPTEMBER

Finegan Kruckemeyer has mentored emerging writer & director Scott McArdle for Between Solar Systems, a thrilling science fiction take on a poignant tale of human existence and the pursuit of truth. The work features Jo Morris, Nick Maclaine and Emily David.

Two Bees.. is a futuristic retrospective looking back on the events surrounding the bees’ disappearance, set in a hive undergoing the final stages of collapse. Written by The Big HOO-HAA’s Daniel Buckle and Nick Pages-Oliver, this brand new comedy features live music and two actors playing nine characters.

 

OCTOBER

Benjamin & Me is presented as part of the 2015 AWESOME Festival and follows the extraordinary journey of a young boy, his dog, their wild imagination and a ukulele. It’s very exciting to have this work by storytelling master Mark Storen for families as part of the season.

Blue Room Theatre Best Production award winner Happy Dagger Theatre (the boat goes over the mountain) is back with The Cockatoos, adapted from the short story by Nobel laureate Patrick White. This is a tale of suburban secrets broken open to the light, featuring Andrew Hale, Nicola Bartlett, Caitlin Beresford-Ord, Anna Brockway and Kingsley Judd.

 

NOVEMBER

Choreographer Shona Erskine, mentored by one of Australia’s foremost dance makers, Sue Healey, presents White Matter. This beautiful and important work employs the abstract and emotive language of contemporary dance to portray an experience of living with multiple sclerosis.

Writer & director Jessica Messenger explores the age old question “what if?” in Multiverse Theory in D. Combining theoretical physics and jazz, the play explores three different versions of a 30-something woman’s life. But not all is quite what it seems on the other side of the black hole…
