INTERVIEW: Tim Brown | Connections 40th Birthday Party

Connections Nightclub is getting ready to party. It’s turning 40, and in human years, that’s over-the-hill, but in nightclub years, it’s probably nothing short of a miracle. Amidst the final preparations for the Saturday night main event, Connies co-owner Tim Brown took a few minutes away from the noisy party prep to tell us a bit about what we can expect at the biggest 40th birthday bash in Northbridge. “It’s a bit mad. I’m in the furthest corner in the nightclub away from all the noise,” Tim begins. “People building and fixing and cleaning, and drag queens dancing,” he remarks. … Continue reading INTERVIEW: Tim Brown | Connections 40th Birthday Party

INTERVIEW: Johannes Reinhart | It’s Showtime

Performance and photography go hand in hand. Live events need visual documentation, and photographers need willing subjects. INTERVIEW: Ash Gibson Greig for The Confidence Man @ PTC

Perth-based composer Ash Gibson Greig had his work cut out for him when he signed on to compose the soundtrack for Side Pony Productions’ The Confidence Man back in 2013, because in actual fact the show required not just one soundtrack, but six.  The Confidence Man, a groundbreaking theatrical work by Zoe Pepper and Adriane Daff that tells the story of a heist gone terribly wrong, requires some further explanation: six volunteer actors from the audience wear audio headsets with running soundtracks that tell them what to do on stage.
